Stuck at work? Start with what you already have.
Week by Week is an AI coach that helps you find your true calling. It starts with what you've already done, not a list of jobs. Then you take one small step a week.
Free demo, no sign-up. Plans from NZ$5.90 a week, incl. GST.
Sound familiar?
You know the job well. But it isn't enough any more, or you can't see what else you'd do.
Maybe you want a change. Maybe you just want to see what's out there.
If it feels bigger than work, free call or text 1737 any time.
About 10 minutes to start
Start with the free demo. No sign-up, and it lasts 24 hours.
You answer plain questions:
- What jobs have you done? Have you made, sold, taught or started anything?
- What are you really good at?
- What do people come to you for?
- When do you lose track of time?
Then the AI coach shows what it picked up and what stands out so far. It's built to credit only what you actually did.
Your real life counts
Already working? Tell the AI coach your limits:
- Hours a week you can spare, not counting your job
- Money you can put towards training
- Whether you can move town or drive
You can also say what's definitely not for you, like night shifts. And pick what matters most at work, like earning well, freedom, security or meaning. The AI coach takes this into account.
With a plan: paths and jobs near you
- 4 or 5 career paths that fit your answers. Each has local ways in, a rough pay range and steps from where you are now.
- Each path has an AI estimate of fit and a plain note on how AI may change the work.
- A search for current job ads near where you live. Sometimes it finds none.
Paths and job ads need a plan. The free demo has no web research.
One small step a week
- One step to try in the next 7 days, then a check-in: did it happen?
- A sample Monday-to-Sunday week that fits your step around work, sport, friends and rest. Tell it your work hours first.
- Wins, logged one line each.
- A plain one-page CV, built from the facts you give it. Add your jobs and dates first.
- A draft message for a job on your list.
Honest limits
- Built first for students and school leavers. Some questions mention school – skip what doesn't fit.
- It's an AI coach, not a counsellor. It can get things wrong, so check important things with someone you trust.
- You get a few paths to test, not one true answer. It can't promise a job or an interview.
- Roles marked 'Entry' may sit below your level. Pay is shown only when the ad states it.
- Made for New Zealand. It replies in English.
- Connect, where you can meet people with the same interests, is for ages 13 to 30.
- Need help now? There's a 'Need help now?' item in the app's menu. Or free call or text 1737 any time. In an emergency, call 111.
Questions
Is Week by Week for adults too?
Yes. You can sign up on your own, with no school code. It was built first for students and school leavers, so some questions mention school. Skip what doesn't fit.
Can I try it before I pay?
Yes. The free demo needs no sign-up. It lasts 24 hours and has 30 AI credits – enough for the first part of the guided start and your first snapshot. It has no web research, so no researched paths or job ads. Sign up while it's running and you can keep your answers, wins and plans.
What does it cost?
Weekly NZ$5.90, monthly NZ$19.90 or yearly NZ$149, all incl. GST. Plans renew automatically. Cancel any time and it stops at the end of the period you've paid for. See Pricing for what each plan includes.
Do I need to give my name or email to sign up?
Not to create your account: you pick a nickname, give your age and choose a username and password. Paying goes through Stripe, which asks for an email and card details. There's no email on your account, so keep your recovery code. More on Privacy & safety.
Is it too late to change direction?
No. Plenty of people change direction, at every age. Week by Week can't promise a new job – it helps you work out your options and a first step. For official NZ careers info, see Tahatū's Change or progress your career page.
Will it find me a job?
It can't promise one. With a plan, it looks for current job ads near where you live and sometimes finds none. It can also suggest local employers to contact. Each match is an AI estimate.
