Who can join

Every student at your school aged 13 and over, whatever your size. There are no per-student licence fees and staff accounts are unlimited. “Sized for” is not a limit on how many students join.

How much AI is included

AI use comes from your school's shared pool – the credits next to each price. “Sized for about 70 students” means about 250 credits each over a year for that many students using it in depth: about 100 to get started, the rest for check-ins and updates. Students who use it lightly use less. Individual limits help manage the pool: up to 200 credits in a student's first seven days, then up to 60 a week, with a monthly limit of 1,000.

Example: a class of 25 getting started in the same week uses about 2,500 credits. On size S, that's more than one month's credits on a monthly plan (1,500 – unused credits build up month by month while the plan continues, up to a year's worth), and about 14% of the yearly pool (18,000), which arrives in one go.

Every licence includes

  • Every student at your school can join – no per-student fees
  • Unlimited staff accounts and the school dashboard
  • The full AI coach – every feature, for every student
  • A shared pool of AI credits for your school
  • Warnings at 80% and 100% of the pool, then a free extra 10% before AI pauses
  • Never billed for usage – no surprise invoices

Need more AI?

Add 5,000 AI credits – about 20 more students – for NZ$200 + GST (NZ$230 incl. GST). Only when you choose to: on a monthly licence from your dashboard, on a yearly licence by asking us – we'll invoice it.

Monthly

Paid by card each month and renews automatically. Cancel any time – your licence runs to the end of the month you've paid for. Want to switch to yearly? Get in touch and we'll arrange it.

Yearly – the price of 10 months

When you request it, you give us your accounts team's billing email and your PO number, if you use one. The invoice goes there, with 20 days to pay – by card on the invoice page or by bank transfer. Each licence year runs to 31 January. Your first invoice is pro rata – you pay only for the days until then. In late November, we send a reminder with next year's invoice, due by 31 January – so your new credits are there on 1 February, ready for Term 1. Cancel before 1 February and you owe nothing for the new year.

Questions

Pricing, explained.

Is it free for students?

Yes, when their school has a licence. The school pays, and students never see a payment screen. Ask your careers adviser or a teacher for your school's code.

What's included?

Everything, on every plan: the conversations, wins and skills, career paths with an honest look at how AI may change each one, local jobs, help with a CV, weekly check-ins, the week planner and the mentor helper. The AI features use credits; everything else is unlimited.

What's an AI credit?

Credits measure how much the AI coach is used – chatting, check-ins, planning and job updates. Some of this starts by itself after you change something. The bigger ones are shown first with their cost, and “Not now” stops them. Getting started takes about 45–120 credits: a short first part, then your first career paths. So on a weekly plan or through your school, your first week is a starter week with up to 200. After that, about 60 a week is enough for regular use. Researching paths or jobs again needs at least 85 credits left. A week's 60 doesn't reach that. On a weekly plan, add a top-up first. Top-ups aren't offered through a school. Everything that doesn't need AI is unlimited.

How is our school's size set?

By your roll, from the latest roll return your school made to the Ministry of Education – counting Years 9–13 where the figures show them. For composite and area schools, we agree the size with you. We always tell you which roll figure we used. We review the size at each yearly renewal: if your roll has moved into another size, we tell you in advance and the new price applies from 1 February. Sizes: S up to 400, M 401–700, L 701–1,100, XL 1,101 or more.

How many AI credits does a school licence include?

A shared pool for the whole school. Monthly: 1,500 (S), 2,250 (M), 3,250 (L) or 4,500 (XL) credits for each paid month. Yearly: 18,000, 27,000, 39,000 or 54,000 for the licence year. That's sized for about 70, 110, 155 or 215 students using it in depth over a year – the first conversations plus around six weekly check-ins each. Credits are added once each payment is received – for a yearly renewal paid by 31 January, on 1 February. Fair use: each student can use up to 200 credits in their first 7 days after joining (their starter week, once per account, from your pool), then up to 60 a week, and any one account up to 1,000 a month. Speed limit: at most 30 AI actions in 10 minutes; tiny ones like follow-up questions count separately, up to 80.

What happens when our credit pool runs low?

Your dashboard warns you at 80% and again at 100%. If your careers adviser adds an email address for these warnings in the dashboard, we email them there too – and we always get a copy, so we can help. Students can keep going until 110%: that extra 10% is free, and nothing is taken off your later credits. Then only the AI features pause, and everything else keeps working. You're never billed for usage. To keep going, add 5,000 credits (about 20 more students) for NZ$200 + GST – on a monthly licence from your dashboard, on a yearly licence by asking us, and we'll invoice it – or wait for the credits from your next payment.

How do schools pay?

Monthly: by card, charged each month. Yearly: when you request it, you give us your accounts team's billing email and your PO number, if you use one. We email the invoice there, and you have 20 days to pay – by card on the invoice page or by bank transfer. School prices exclude GST; every invoice shows GST and our GST number.

When does a yearly licence renew?

Every licence year runs to 31 January and renews on 1 February. In late November, before the summer holidays, we email you a reminder with next year's invoice. It's due by 31 January, so your new year's credits are there on 1 February, ready for Term 1. If you start part-way through the year, your first invoice covers only the days left until 31 January, priced pro rata. Your credit pool is pro-rated the same way.

Can we switch from monthly to yearly?

Yes. Get in touch and we'll arrange it with you.

Can we cancel?

Yes, any time. A monthly licence runs to the end of the month you've paid for. A yearly licence runs to the end of the current licence year (31 January) and then doesn't renew. Not renewing? Cancel before 1 February and you owe nothing for the new year. Once a licence year has started, its fee isn't refunded.

What happens when a school's licence ends?

AI features and editing pause, but students can still log in and read everything for at least 120 days – so if your school stops at the end of the school year, they can read their work until at least 31 March. If you start a new licence, everyone carries on where they left off. Students who want to keep going on their own can choose a personal plan: their account then moves out of your school, you no longer see it, and their work stays with them. Students under 16 need a parent's or caregiver's OK before the plan can start. If a student doesn't choose a plan, their account and content are deleted 12 months after your school stops using Week by Week, unless you or the student delete them earlier.

Can we try it before we pay?

Yes. The free pilot gives 5 students full access for a month, with no card. The month starts when your first student logs in, and the pilot ends automatically – nothing is charged unless you choose a licence. Start a free pilot.

Is GST included?

Personal plans include GST. School prices are shown + GST, with the amount including GST alongside.

How many AI credits do personal plans include?

Weekly: up to 200 credits in your first paid week (your starter week, once per account), then 60 each paid week. Monthly: 260 credits at the start of each paid month. Yearly: 260 credits at the start of every month of the year. On the monthly and yearly plans, you don't need a starter week: you use your credits at your own pace through the month – there's no weekly limit, only a cap of 1,000 credits a month per account, including any you add. Unused plan credits don't carry over. Speed limit for every account: at most 30 AI actions in 10 minutes; tiny ones like follow-up questions count separately, up to 80.

Which personal plan is the best value?

The yearly plan. At NZ$149 a year, you save 37% compared with monthly, 51% compared with weekly. On the monthly plan, at NZ$19.90 a month, you save 22% compared with weekly. We compare what a year costs on each plan: weekly NZ$306.80, monthly NZ$238.80, yearly NZ$149.

Can I cancel my personal plan?

Yes. Your plan renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time and it runs to the end of the week, month or year you've paid for. On the yearly plan, we email you 30 days before it renews with the amount, the renewal date, how to cancel and how to get your money back: you can ask for a refund within 14 days of buying or renewing.

Can I switch plans?

Yes, any time in the app, under Settings › Plan & usage. The new plan starts straight away. You pay its price now, less the unused part of your current plan. Unused plan credits don't carry over. If the unused part of your yearly plan is more than the new price, the rest is kept as credit for your next payments – it isn't paid out.

What if I run out of credits on my own plan?

The AI features pause until your next credits arrive – everything else keeps working. With any active plan, you can add 60 credits for NZ$2.90. You can do this up to 2 times a day and 4 times a month.
